Desert Jewel Studio is perfectly named – not only because owner Patricia Shepherd is a jewelry artisan, but because, like a jewel, the studio is “set” in a rare unincorporated low-impact area that boasts open spaces, trail ways and unimpeded desert washes. Here Patricia lives her passion to be part of a conscientious community where the ecosystem health has been protected and a natural wildlife habitat is valued and preserved for future generations.
Desert Jewel Studio is participating in the popular Hidden In The Hills Studio Tour & Sale held this year November 18-19-20 & 25-26-27.
Enjoying the “hidden” desert landscape is part of what makes this tour so special and Desert Jewel Studio’s location is part of what makes this studio so special. And speaking of special – no other studio has the sweetly braying Sparky the miniature donkey as a guest greeter!
The workspace is fully-equipped with tools of the trade and an outdoor kiln used in the final casting process. The showrooms are spacious – the displays are spectacular. Works of art are alluring and tempting.
Host Patricia Shepherd (fine jewelry, glass, mixed media) welcomes returning guest artist Jennifer Hanscom (fine & constructed jewelry, mixed media, glass) and first-time guest but returning to the tour Lori Myers (oil, glass) into her showrooms during this six-day event.
Together these three exceptional artisans will welcome you to Desert Jewel Studio – a special jewel in the desert and first on the HITH tour from south to north off of Cave Creek Road.
